The aftermath of today’s early morning thunderstorm and heavy rainfall at Xlendi Bay and Lunzjata Valley have been captured in photographs by Maggie Bajada.
Gozo Minister Clint Camilleri said that tons of debris were swept down the roads leading to Xlendi Bay, with 4 cars ending up in the sea. They were later hoisted out by crane.
He visited some of the worst hit areas and thanked the police, Transport Malta and Wasteserv for the coordination of work clearing up, as well as the group of Blue Waters divers who assisted with the preparations to pick up the 4 vehicles that ended up in the sea.

50mm of rain and so much damage after spending millions on road infrastructure. this goes to show you what a great job the contractors did.
