Angelo Muscat, will be performing a concert of Sacred Music with a selection of religious classical music.

The repertoire for the evening will include works by various Maltese composers including Vincenzo Bugeja and Francesco Decesare; both synonymous with the liturgy of the Titular Feast of Xaghra as well as other popular and prestigious works that show an expression of capacity for which his young tenor Angelo Muscat is known.

The “Cappella Musicale Caeciliana” Orchestra will be accompanying the tenor and two guest singers – Soprano Astrid Cacciatore and Bassist Albert Buttigieg – who together with tenor Angelo Muscat will perform works such as Handel’s O Mio Signor and Donizetti’s Ave Maria.

Joining the orchestra will be clarinetist Jessica Ellul, playing “Mozart Clarinet.” All this will be under the music direction of Maestro Abraham D’Amato.

This Sacred Music is on Sunday, the 24th of October, at the Nativity of Our Lady Basilica, Xaghra, starting at 6pm.

The organisers thanked the Ministry for Gozo and the Culture Heritage Directorate for making this concert possible.
