New PL candidate elected Sannat mayor

PL candidate Philip Vella, who was contesting the local elections for the first time, has been elected the new mayor of Sannat, after receiving 338 first count votes against a quota of 200 votes.
Also from the Labour Party, Teddy Bajada and Toni Mercieca have both been elected on the second count.
Labour has now gained four seats in Sannat compared to three in the last election, they gained a seat from AD who did not contest the seat after their candidate John Mizzi crossed over to the Labour Party.
