A man and a woman, both aged 77 have passed away in the past 24 hours while Covid-19 positive, Health Authorities have said.
There have been 56 new Covid-19 cases found overnight, and 58 recoveries were also recorded. This takes the number of active cases to 1,003.
The authorities also said that 12 Covid patients are currently being treated at Mater Dei Hospital, including 2 in ITU.
There have been 468 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
Health Authorities said that the number of vaccines administered up until yesterday is 942,729 of which 107,776 are booster doses.
I applaud the Health Minister for his diligent work in the very difficult job of combatting Covid-19 and keeping the Maltese Citizens safe. I am grateful for him and all his staff. ? yet and I really feel this yet! As the Prime Minister and the Deputy Prime Minister often calls to attention other close by countries like Italy, Sicily and so on why don’t they also call attention on the Island of Gozo! At one stage it seemed like Gozo was targeted as an island where it was more easy to get the infections to 0. They even blocked the crossing from Malta for some time! I am not suggesting this, I realise it will be difficult and discriminatory (maybe) What I feel is our right is to local information. I would like to know the number of cases in Gozo. Is it so much to ask? We used to have this info every Friday but as far as I know even when we had that high rise it was always totaled. We are over a 1000, I would like to know how many of them are in Gozo if it is possible, or give me a reason why it is not proper to divulge this information. Thank you…
