The Malta Police Union has registered a dispute against the Commissioner of Police after Reserved Police Constable did not receive payment of Shift Allowance and Special Duty Allowance on a pro-rata basis as had been agreed on the 24th of September.
The Union in a statement, said that in could not understand why, after several weeks of corresponding with the Police Administration, and after an agreement has been reached for the payment of such allowances on a pro-rata basis, the Police Administration still did not issue the payments.
It concluded by saying that, ”when the Police Force decided to deduct the allowances of certain Police officers by changing their title, it was done overnight, but when we come to paying an allowance, it’s a different story.”
