Xewkija Local Council has honoured distinguished citizens from the locality on the occasion of Jum-ix-Xewkija. The presentations were made by the Xewkija Mayor Hubert Saliba during a celebration evening for the occasion.

Carmel Xuereb has this year been presented with the “Gieh Ix-Xewkija” award. The council said that this is ”a well deserved prize for all the work done on a voluntary basis.”

The council also congratulated Carlton Mifsud who has been presented with the “Hidmet Iz-Zghazagh” award for his contribution within the locality.
