A 66-year old woman was seriously injured after falling the height of one storey down a shaft at a residence in Triq ir-Ramla, Nadur, on Wednesday morning.

Police said that the accident happened at around 11.15am A medical team from the Gozo General Hospital were called on site and the woman was taken to the Gozo General Hospital, where she was later certified to be suffering from serious injuries.

Duty Magistrate Dr. Bridget Sultana ordered and inquiry to be held with the aid of several experts.

Police investigations are ongoing.
