An 18-year-old was seriously injured early this morning after he lost control of his car and it fell into a valley.
Police said that the accident happened at around 12.15am in Victoria Road, Zebbug, Gozo.
The young man, who is from Xewkija, was given assistance by a medical team at the scene before being taken to the Gozo General Hospital for further treatment.
Police investigations are ongoing.

Most of the Gozo roads are without crash barriers and that is why cars end up in the valleys. The road authorities should go all around Gozo and see where there is the danger that cars will end in valleys and put up crash barriers like in Malta which is full of crash barriers. Gozo cannot remain being treated as a second-hand country.
