The number of Covid-19 cases continues to rise, with 282 new cases found overnight. The number of Covid patients requiring treatment in hospital has also increased, with 30 currently hospitalised including 4 in ITU.

Authorities said that there were 55 new recoveries recorded in the past 24 hours, this now takes the number of active cases in Malta and Gozo up over 2,000 to 2,018. The last time that active cases reached over 2,000 was during the last week of July this year.

There have been 471 deaths since the start of the pandemic.

Health Authorities said that the number of booster doses administered up until yesterday is 169,800.
