The Ministry for Gozo is offering a scholarship to Gozitan residents who wish to pursue a Course in Sports Administration which will be offered in Gozo itself and accredited at a professional level. MQF 5.

In a statement, the Ministry said that for this Award in Sports Management, in collaboration with Avanza Academy, it will be funding 30% of the costs involved while the remaining 70% can be recovered through the Get Qualified scheme.

Minister Camilleri stated that this is the first time such a scholarship has been offered, “with so many opportunities in the field of sports on our island today it was time to increase this series of investments by this time focusing on the human resource that is so important for the management of sports facilities and sports entities at a professional level.”

The Minister concluded by saying that this will surely lead to the foundations of sport being strengthened. ”Gozo will be stronger and this when in a few more months the preparations will start so that for the first time in the history of our island we will take part in the Island Games to be held in Guernsey in July 2023.

The sessions will take place at the University of Malta Centre in Xewkija, twice a week between 5pm and 8pm and will start in January 2022.
