Customs, during the last weeks of 2021, seized 14 more vehicles, stolen from Canada and destined for Kuwait.
These 14 vehicles were found hidden inside eight 40-foot containers. Customs officials at the Freeport intercepted, through their scanning equipment, the following vehicles:
– nine Ford F150 trucks;
– two Lexus RX 35;
– one Lexus 1S30;
– one Dodge Dura; and
– one Jeep Wrangler. Customs said that during several Customs operations, 32 containers with 58 stolen vehicles from Canada were seized. The Malta Police Force and the Canadian Authorities have been informed about the find and an investigation has been launched, it said.
Malta Customs’ efforts has helped Canadian Police file charges against 9 persons suspected of being linked to violent car-jackings.
