An 80-year old woman has passed away during the last 24 hours while Covid-19 positive, authorities said today.

There were 72 new Covid-19 cases found overnight and 80 recoveries, which now takes the number of active cases in Malta and Gozo to 861.

There are 42 patients requiring treatment in Mater Dei Hospital including 3 who are in ITU (figures for Gozo General Hospital have not been updated).

There have been 609 deaths since the start of the pandemic.

The number of booster doses administered up until yesterday is 344,726.
