The opening night of the Malta International Fireworks Festival 2022 has been postponed from the 17th f April due to the forecast of adverse weather conditions over the weekend.

The organisers made the decision after it was felt that it may have impacted the health and safety of the participants, the members of staff involved in the organisation and all those attending the various displays of the event.

Hondoq will now no longer be hosting the opening night of the Malta International Fireworks Festival, but it will still be the venue for the 23rd of April, when fireworks enthusiasts will be able to watch them being let off from barges facing this beautiful bay.

The theme for this spectacular display is – A night with the Legends – inspired by Legendary Music Artists that have passed away. Each participant will be asked to select the Musical Score for the Pyro Musical Display from the likes of Aretha Franklin, Michael Jackson, Amy Winehouse, Freddie Mercury and many more.

Further information about traffic and public transport arrangements and road closures will be communicated closer to each date.
