Please donate blood for the benefit of those who are injured in the workplace. This is the message for May from the National Blood Transfusion Service.

The Service is urging Gozitans to therefore please take the time to help those in need by making a donation on one of the five dates during May that are shown below. Blood is precious and giving blood is an essential service, “that cannot be neglected.”

Donations can be made at the District Health Centre in Xewkija, located in Triq tall- Hamrija, between the Primary School and the Bocci Club on any of the dates shown below:

Tuesdays – last registration 5:00pm

3rd May from 1:00pm-5:00pm

17th May from 1:00pm-5:00pm

31st May from 1:00pm-5:00pm

Sunday – last registration 1:00pm

8th May 8:00am to 1:00pm

22nd of May 8:00am to 1:00pm.

The Service reminds everyone that it is important to always take your Identity Card, or Driving License or Maltese Passport and to drink plenty of water beforehand. Also, please encourage others to donate if possible.

Important notes from the National Blood Transfusion Service to avoid wasting time

Swab testers, whether routine or for travelling, are asked to wait until a Covid negative result is issued.

Those who tested positive for Covid will be able to donate blood two weeks after the end of quarantine.

Those who were in quarantine and were not positive for Covid will be able to donate blood as soon as the isolation period ends.
