A 68-year old woman from Xewkija has been seriously injured after falling the height of one-storey at a construction site on Triq ta’ Xaghman, Sannat.

Police said that the accident happened at around 10am this morning, when the woman, who is from Xewkija, fell down some stairs at the site.

She was assisted at the scene by a medical team and members of the Civil Protection Department.

The woman was taken to the Gozo General Hospital where she was later certified as suffering from serious injuries.

Duty Magistrate Bridgette Sultana is leading an inquiry.

Police investigations are ongoing.
