Malta International Airport has welcomed today’s removal of the requirement to wear face masks indoors and the requirement to fill in a passenger locator form as positive steps in the right direction.

It also noted that another important change to the airport journey is the elimination of the health documentation verification process on arrival.

A limited number of health documentation verification booths remain in place for the purpose of conducting random checks, the Airport said.

MIA said that while it pledges to continue maintaining the highest levels of cleanliness and safety across the terminal, “airport guests are being given the opportunity to make personal choices regarding the wearing of masks inside the building, particularly now that the hotter summer months are only weeks away.”

Malta International Airport concluded that it now looks forward to seeing the removal of red and dark red travel lists, as the country moves into a post-Covid phase.
