On the occasion of the Feast of St. Joseph the Worker and on the occasion of the 11th Anniversary of the Beatification of Pope John Paul II, the JP2 Foundation presented ‘Il Concertino’ in Qala.
The concert was performed by the ‘Echo String Ensemble’ playing a number of well-known pieces with the participation of a number of children and young musicians over the age of six, under the direction of Emese Tóth and David Lang.
Held at the Qala Sanctuary, the audience included parishioners, the Qala Mayor together with a number of Councillors and the Deputy Parish Priest.
Towards the middle of the programme, Chev. Joe M. Attard, who was the presenter for the evening, read his poem ‘To St. Joseph the Worker’ on the occasion of the feast of this Patriarch, patron saint of workers.
The concert was held in full collaboration with the Directorate of Cultural Heritage within the Ministry for Gozo, the Qala Local Council and the Qala Parish.
