The Grand Finals of the Gozo Motocross Championship 2022 is being held this Sunday, the 8th of May, at Ta’ Xhajma Track. Organised by the Gozo Motocross Association, races start at 1pm.

Following a season of extensive, hard work, the MX riders will be awarded for their efforts during this last event.

GMA president Frank Xuereb, thanked all those who helped during this season , and for the participation of all riders and marshals, Gozitans and Maltese.

As usual the event will be divided into four categories. In Class A, B, C and D. Each rider with the most number of points will be crowned champion in the respective categories.

The rider in Class A will be crowned Gozo Motocross Overall Champion.The Championship trophies will be presented by the Minister for Gozo Clint Camilleri.

During the ceremony, the GMA will honour two of its founders, the late Mr Gorg Xuereb and the late Mr Vince Bonello, who back in the 1980s worked hard towards planting the seeds of motocross in Gozo.

GMA Junior Motocross Twinning 14-15th May

Meanwhile, The GMA Junior Academy will continue to celebrate its foundation by organising a Twinning project with MX Simeto OffRoad Academy in Belpasso, Sicily.

Four young Gozitan riders, Matthias Sultana, Craig Piscopo, Trystn Theuma and Diego Panza will be competing with their Sicilian counterparts on the 15th of May.

This is the first experience for these new enthusiast who will certainly be doing their utmost to perform well in the competitions. In return, MX Simeto OffRoad Academy will be visiting the GMA premises in September.

Riders Steve Xuereb, Robert Spiteri, Scott Donovan and Mario Cauchi will also represent GMA by competing on friendly terms at the MX Simeto OFFRoad Park.
