The KANA Movement recently gathered together for its AGM at the Catholic Institute in Floriana. The first time it had been held since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic.

After the initial addresses by the KANA Director, Mons. Charles Attard and by the KANA President, Dr Joe Cassar, the special guest speaker was Archbishop Emeritus Mons. George Frendo, O.P.

Mons. Frendo addressed those present on the theme of, “The Family in Albania.”

Mons. Frendo spent decades as Archbishop of Albania, and consequently has first-hand knowledge not only of the “family status,” as well as a “good grasp” of the different hardships that these families had to endure, especially through the years of dictatorship during the Communist regime.

Besides the families, Mons. Frendo also spoke about the Catholic Church and its outreach to families (similar to what KANA does in Malta), especially where mixed marriages were concerned.

The AGM proceeded with listening to the Financial Report by Mr Franco Sciberras and from Mr Chris Demicoli who mentioned a list of activities and courses delivered by KANA.
