The OASI Foundation in collaboration with the Council of the Northern Region are organising a conference with the aim of raising awareness about how addiction affects work
This conference, entitled “Ix-Xoghol … u l-Addiction? will be held under the Patronage of the President of Malta, E.T. Dr. George Vella, will take place at the Dolmen Hotel, Malta, on the 18th of May, starting at 9am.
The Foundation explained that the aim of this conference is that, together with professionals, we look at the impact of work on the person who is abusing substances, both during what is known as active using and also in the process of recovery.
Apart from that, professionals will delve into how chemical dependency can in turn affect the workplace. Moreover, the conference aims to look at what impact the employer has in the recovery process.
Speakers and professionals on the subject, including a psychologist, social worker, lawyer, director and two members from RISe and YMCA will be contributing, whilst helping us understand clearly what is happening and how we can improve our present and our future.
This conference should be of interest to professionals, employers and employees and also those in managerial roles.
