After Two World Wars where millions of people died, World Leaders all over the World cried and shouted “No More Wars.” This of course was said for Global World Wars as localised wars were, are and will always be with us.

The aftermath of the Second World War saw the emergence of Three Super Powers as World Leaders, i.e. America in the West, The Soviet Union in the East and China in the Asian atmospheres.

European Colonial Powers lost their world military strength and many Colonial Occupied Countries started achieving and declaring their Independence. India started this revolution and many followed, although some suffered heartbreaking causalities.

After the “League of Nations” was created after the 1st World War in which Britain and France were the absolute Leaders, the New World Order after the 2nd World War, 5 Nations that each and anyone of these can “Overcome” any resolutions by the rest of Nations.

This shows that Might is Right

Europe went under the American protection Umbrella, The Soviet Union had the Eastern Nations and half of Germany under its Umbrella, whilst China dominated the Asian sphere.

Thus the World was divided into three categories and still is. Each of these three being wary of each other’s Nuclear Capability and very careful not to tread on each others territory.

Missiles in Cuba

The closest conflict between two Nuclear Powers came when Russia wanted to install Missiles in Cuba. America declared this as a threat to its country and sent War Ships to face the Russian ones. Common sense prevailed at the last instant with the Russians retreating and thus a nuclear war was averted.

The real breakthrough of peace between the Soviet Union and The West/America came about when Gorbachev and Bush met in Malta and came to several general agreements to reduce Nuclear Armaments and on many other Important issues.

Countries under Soviet domination started seeking their Independence and the most important of these was the “Reunification” of Germany.

The world leaders lost the opportunity of really bringing liberation and democracy inside Russia by allowing both greedy Russians and Western Financial Gurus to exploit the situation to extend their own wealth.

Russian leaders were weak at that particular time which also continued to complicate things.

This is where Putin came into the picture and slowly by stealth took over the leadership of Russia and continued to control it by changing the Rules and Regulations of Democratic Policies to a Dictatorship one.

This danger was manifested by the adoption of imprisoning every person and organisation that opposed his policies or his authority.

One must also say that Russians prefer Law and Order instead of the Free For All that took hold prior to Putin taking power.

Mistakes by American Leaders

Putin bided his time so that when American President Obama didn’t keep his word on the Syrian “Red Line” and Gas Bombs were repeatedly dropped on Civilians, Russia took the opportunity of this weakness to take over the Syrian Conflict with direct foot soldiers.

Secondly another American President, Donald Trump, famously quoting his “America First Policy,” left Europe out in the cold on its own. Europe then belatedly realised the fact that it was not capable of any major military action on its own.

In other words Europe was left militarily defenceless.

Russia Seizes The Opportunity

After taking over Crimea without any real problems, Putin realised that both Europe and America weren’t prepared and took the opportunity to take over the “Donbas Region” with Military Might. Thus Russia invaded Ukraine.

One has to take in mind that Russia was being surrounded by NATO Countries which previously were under the Soviet Rule. Russia was feeling threatened by this and decided to take Military Action, not only to invade Ukraine but also to occupy the Donbas Region as it did Crimea.

On the other hand Ukraine as a Free Country has every right to decide for itself which policies it wants to adopt. But with a big powerful neighbour Ukraine has to be very careful of its own decisions.

Might is Right

Might is “Right” a well known proverb states. America has it’s influences in the Americas and Europe especially. It dominates the financial aspects which all the world has to follow whether they like it or not.

China is now dominating its part of the World in the Asian Sphere, including its waters and several Islands plus of course airspace.

On the other hand one has Russia under Putin which is once again trying to regain its past glory of the Soviet Union.

Europe is starting to realise that it also needs to upgrade its defences as although democracies are thriving and have been since after the 2nd World War, it does need the power to protect what has been acquired through time.

The stronger Europe gets, the least chance there will be to lose what it gained from past experiences.

Let us all hope for peace in Ukraine and Europe. And for Ukraine to really win back it’s territories and adopt their citizens wish for Democracy, Liberty and a Better Way of Life.

China controlled more than the Asian “atmospheres”, Lino!
That apart, the threat to Putin was not Nato in Ukraine – which had been told that it may be allowed membership, but not yet, and was in any case vetoed by Germany and France as likely to annoy the “former Soviet Union”.
What Putin feared, and objected to was… Democracy: the very idea that Ukraine could, as an independent country, even APPLY for membership of Nato, and maybe also of the EU, without his say–so.
Moscow is, of course, in Europe. It’s people consider themselves to be Europeans – and certainly not Asians!
Putin should have seen the benefit of a continuing pro-European Soviet-allied buffer state as an advantage in the future of both peace and trade.
But then he would not have been “Csar of All The Russias”.
