The stories covered in this weeks issue are:
1. The Prayer Groups in Gozo gathered at Our Lady of Graces to commemorate the birthday of their founder, St Pio of Pietrelcina.
2. Mgr. Mario Grech, bishop of Gozo, ordained three young men as priests at the Gozo Cathedral. The newly ordained are Fr Anthony Bajada, Fr Joseph Curmi, and Fr Richard- Nazzareno Farrugia, and of whom hail from the parish of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Xaghra.
3. The year for priests was officially inaugurated in Gozo during a concelebrated mass led by Bishop Mario Grech in the parish of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, Fontana. This year has been proclaimed by His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI on the one hundred and fiftieth anniversary of the death of St John Mary Vianny, the Curé of Ars.
4. The Golden Chamomile (chamomilla aurea) an endemic plant of the Gozo Cittadella. This plant which was thought to be extinct from the Maltese islands is again in bloom on the parapet areas of the Citadel. An exercise is ongoing between MEPA and the Ministry for Gozo to monitor the growth and flourishing of this plant.
