X’hemM? Mathematical and scientific descriptions on Gozo landmarks

The 11th edition of “X’hemM? – a Mathematics and Science Education Popularisation Initiative,has been organised by the Science Centre within the Directorate for Learning and Assessment Programmes.
The Maths Support Team in collaboration with the Gozo Regional Council (Regjun Ghawdex) organised the initiative entitled “X’hemM? Jghaqqadna fir-Regjun t’Ghawdex.”
Students were invited to plan, design, construct and write a mathematical and scientific description about a landmark in Gozo.
Diverse projects from around the island were submitted. All the participants were awarded a Certificate of Participation and also an entry ticket to the Esplora Interactive Science Centre in Kalkara, for taking part in this year’s X’hemM? Edition.
Moreover, the winning projects were awarded a voucher for a cultural visit abroad by Dr. Samuel Azzopardi, President of the Gozo Regional Council.
The award ceremony was held this week at the Xewkija Primary School Hall.

· Liana Pace – The White Hillock (il-Qolla l- Bajda)
· Elisa Camilleri – Merzuq Hill
· Jake Bugeja – Lunzjata Chapel and Valley
· Mario Zerafa – Tal-Mixta Cave
· Giosiana Cardona – Xewkija Windmill.
