Minister for Gozo Clint Camilleri visited the ongoing works on the Gozo Aquatic and Sports Centre, which, he said is expected to be completed next year.

This complex, which is built on 5,000 square metres in the center of Victoria, “will be the biggest sports investment ever made in Gozo,” he said.

The Minister explained the truss structures that will be lifting the roof of the complex have been completed, and now the works have started on the panelling in the iron structures in order to close this complex as a whole.

He went on to say that, “while this work will be ongoing in the coming weeks, we will continue with the last works we have in front of the same building. Several works related to M&Es have been carried out, especially the complex system of the pump room and ancillary machinery, so that not only the Sports Centre will be operated but these systems will also be operating this Olympic-sized swimming pool, being built for the first time in Gozo.”

The architect of the project, Godwin Sultana, explained that now roofing will start on the Aquatic and Sports Centre.
