A mosaic created by the Gozitan artist Lisa Formosa, has been inaugurated in Qala, by the Mayor of the locality, Paul Buttigieg.
The Mayor said that, “by assembling tiny pieces together, a picture has been created of the places which characterise our village, among them, the parish church, the Immaculate Conception chapel, and the windmill.”
The inauguration was held in the presence of a delegation from the island of Salina, in the north of Sicily. There is a twinning agreement between the Qala Local Council and the Commune of the island of Salina, which was first made in 2003.
This wall mural can be found at the entrance of the Qala Local Council Hall, in Triq l-Imgarr.
