The Socjetà Muzikali Santa Margerita V.M. of Sannat Gozo is celebrating the 25th anniversary from its foundation.
As part of the celebrations commemorating this silver jubilee, a new oratorio named ‘Margerita t’Antijokja’ (Margaret of Antioch) will be premiered in Sannat.
The Oratorio is composed by Mro Ray Sciberras, with lyrics by Joseph Mifsud. This oratorio is about the life, the martyr and the glory of Saint Margaret, Patron Saint of Sannat.
The new work is going to be performed by Saint Margaret Band under the baton of Mro George Apap with the participation of soloists: Georgina Gauci (Soprano); Graziella DeBattista (Alto); Alan Sciberras (Tenor) and Albert Buttigieg (Bass) together with the choir ‘Ulied Margerita’ under the direction of Mariella Spiteri Cefai.
The Oratorio ‘Margerita t’Antijokja’ is going to be performed on Friday, the 11th of November, at 7.00pm at the St Margaret Parish Church in Sannat, under the patronage of H.E. Frank Zammit, Maltese Ambassador of the Holy See.
