Gozo Minister Clint Camilleri has visited the ongoing works in Pjazza Santa Margerita, Sannat, where recently during the excavation process several archaeological remains were discovered
Together with Sannat Mayor Philip Vella, they were given an explanation on the progress of the works and the discoveries made – which, it was said, are “likely to be water retention structures.”
The Gozo Minister said that they look forward to this project materialising, while also protecting the heritage that was found.
The work to be carried out on the €3.7 million regeneration project includes the construction of culverts through which all services will pass; new rainwater culverts; paving and a new surface for the square; parking arrangements; pedestrian areas and traffic lanes; new street furniture and a new lighting system.
