Malta’s national Anti-Bullying Week 2022, starts today until the 18th of November, launched by bBrave with the theme – Reach Out.
This year’s theme turns the spotlight on how everyone can challenge bullying by showing each other support.
During this week bBrave said that they are reminding everyone that they all have a responsibility to help one another. “It takes courage but it can save lives. Reach out if you need help, speak to someone you trust. Reach out to someone being bullied, show them support and let them know that someone does care.”
bBrave Founder and Secretary General, Dr. Aaron Zammit Apap, stressed that, “this year’s theme fits perfectly with one of bBrave’s missions – that to provide support. Reach Out is an encouraging message to those who are feeling helpless because the negativity of bullying has taken over their lives.”
bBrave has also welcomed its new team of trainee counsellors from the Department of Counselling at the University of Malta – offering free counselling sessions to persons suffering from bullying.
“Bullying does not have an age. It’s a challenge we face at school, at home, at the workplace and online – every day. bBrave is therefore inviting the Maltese community to challenge bullying by joining in and spread this year’s message,” it said.
bBrave is a voluntary, independent, and non-governmental organisation, registered with the Commissioner for Voluntary Organisations (VO 1422), and a Core Member of the international Anti-Bullying Alliance.
As the first anti-bullying NGO in Malta, thanks to its members and sponsors, it works on educating more about bullying behaviour and its effects. bBrave operates on a fully voluntary basis. It also assists individuals suffering from bullying in connecting them with the right support system.
