“A Night with the Musicals” at the Cittadella

Last week the Gaulitanus Choir presented "A Night with the Musicals" on the St, John’s Demi-Bastion in the Cittadella, as an event in the "Gran Castello Summer Nights" events organised by the Gozo Culture Council within the Ministry for Gozo.
The choir interpreted selections from well known musicals such as Lionel Bart’s "Oliver!", Richard Rodger’s "The Sound of Music," Andrew Lloyd Webber’s "The Phantom of the Opera," Michel Schonberg’s "Les Miserables" and Fredrick Lowe’s "My Fair Lady," the audience were full of appreciation for the musical event.
As is normal, the choir’s soloists, sopranos Stephanie Portelli, Annabelle Zammit, Maria Grech Magro and Margaret Plant, the mezzo-sopranos Marthese Borg and Patricia Buttigieg, Tenors Terry Shaw and Joseph Buttigieg, and bass Darren Vella took a leading part in this concert which also featured as a guest singer the Gozitan-Americal soprano Pamela Agius.
The choir was as usual accompanied by the resident pianist Mro. Stephen Attard and was under the direction of Mro. Colin Attard.
