€30,000 has been donated to the Pope’s Charity by the Diocese of Gozo for the people of Ukraine, which had been collected from Gozo parishes and churches this year.
The money is to buy warm clothes for those who are suffering the bitter cold of winter and other difficulties because of the war.
In a statement, the Diocese of Gozo said explained that the Ukrainian people are living a state of emergency which, apart from the war factor, is also due to the lack of electricity, gas, and the very severe winter cold.
There will be protective clothing for thermal insulation, suitable to keep the body temperature warm
In addition to this grant to the Pope’s Charity, the Diocesan Caritas is helping some families from Ukraine who are refugees in Gozo.
Caritas expressed its thanks to the many benefactors for their generosity whenever an appeal is made for help and wish a holy Christmas to everyone who is in Gozo.
