Carnival fever is now well underway in Gozo, attracting thousands of visitors from Malta and further afield for what promises to be a spectacular Carnival weekend.
It all kicked off on Friday evening with with the Gozo Regional Carnival and the Nadur Spontaneous Carnival.
Gozo is famous for its Carnival events with five days of celebrations for all ages – fun, excitement, dance and much more…..time for revellers to let their hair down and go with the flow – perfect for those who enjoy a good party!
As already advised, Malta Public Transport is running special bus services to Nadur over the weekend.
The programme for the Gozo Regional Programme is as follows:
Saturday 18th February 6pm: Defile’ along Republic Street to Independence Square.
Dance spectacle with the participation of dance companies, together with triumphal floats, grotesque masks, “Il-Komittiva” and special guests.
Sunday 19th February 3.00pm: Defile’ along Republic Street to Independence Square..
Dance spectacle with the participation of dance companies together with triumphal floats, grotesque masks, bands, “Il-Komittiva” humorous sketches.
Monday 20th February 6.00pm: Defile’ along Republic Street to Independence Square.
Dance spectacle with the participation of dance companies together with triumphal floats, grotesque masks, “Il-Komittiva,” bands and humorous sketches.
Tuesday 21st February 6.00pm: Grand Finale along Republic Street to Independence Square.
Dance spectacle with the participation of dance companies together with triumphal floats, grotesque masks, humorous sketches and local bands.
Xaghra Carnival
Saturday 18th February: 7.30pm
A varied Carnival programme in Nazzarenu Square including the traditional Kumittiva dance and local dance companies.
Sunday 19th February: 10.45am
Carnival Band Marches by the Victory Philharmonic Society
12.00pm:
A varied Carnival programme in Victory Square with the participation of various Carnival dance companies, Carnival floats and the traditional Kumittiva dance.
