Professor Richard England will be discussing Cain and Lazarus in the next talk due to be held at Il-Hagar Museum, Gozo.

On this occasion, Professor England will investigate – in a biblical and fictitious approach – the lives of these characters, respectively from Old Testament and New. Also referring to his recent publications, he reveals aspects which make them so interesting and captivating.

England has received various prestigious architectural awards and was hailed as a “master builder having the language of poetry” by none other than Renzo Piano – to mention just one who poured praise with lavish abandon, highlighting his world stature. But Professor England has not limited his expertise strictly to his profession.

It is also worthwhile to note that an old – restored – painting depicting the Raising of Lazarus is on permanent display on level 3.

The talk is on Saturday, the 18th of March, starting at 11am.

Supported by the Gozo Ministry’s Culture Directorate, attendance for this unusual lecture in English is free, but booking a seat on events@heartofgozo.org.mt is recommended.

It could moreover be the last opportunity to view the Donations & Bequests exhibition set up around Il-Hagar for its 10th anniversary.

Il-Hagar is located in St George’s Square, Victoria.
