A Life of Colour is the title of a major exhibition of Esprit Barthet works, inaugurated by Gozo Minister Clint Camilleri at Il-Hagar Museum, Victoria on Sunday.

Although the exhibition will be on view to the public until the 28th of May, its curator Nicoline Sagona is offering the opportunity of a guided tour around these fifty important paintings by this prominent contemporary artist, this Saturday, the 1st of April.

Barthet exhibition Guided Tour with curator Nicoline SagonaA Life of Colour surveys main milestones in Barthet’s career, also through examples from collections which cannot be easily visited. Interestingly, Ms Sagona (who has often been involved in curating) discussed Barthet’s artistic contribution when graduating.

The accompanying full-colour catalogue is published as Il-Hagar GEMS 24. This museum, located in St George’s Square, is open 9am to 5pm seven days a week, without any entrance fee

The tour will begin at 11am; though participation is free, reservations are recommended through an email to events@heartofgozo.org.mt
