During their recent visit to Gozo, the Three Priests – Fr Martin and Fr Eugene O’Hagan and Fr David Delargy met with the Bishop of Gozo Anton Teuma.

The trio of priest-singers were on the island to perform in a concert in the Xaghra Basilica on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Coronation of the Bambina statue.

The meeting with Bishop Teuma was held at the Curia in the presence of the Vicar General Mons. Tarcisju Camilleri and the Archpriest of Xaghra Mons. Karm Refalo.

The Irish priests told Bishop Teuma how to this day they are still engaged in the hearts of the people by carrying out pastoral work in different parishes in Northern Ireland.

The Bishop pointed out in a positive way the fact that these priests kept as a ‘stage name’ the name The Priests and he appreciated the fact how one uses his talents, namely singing, to convey the message of the Gospel.

The Priests concert took place on the initiative of the JP2 Foundation and with the help of the Ministry for Gozo and the Xaghra Local Council.
