Over 174,000 inbound tourists visited the Maltese Islands during March

Tourist arrivalsAn estimated 174,382 inbound tourists visited the Maltese Islands during March, while total nights spent amounted to 1,057,589, and total expenditure surpassed €126.3 million, the National Statistics Office said today.

Residents from the UK, Italy and France made up 46.6% of total inbound tourists.

The NSO noted that the largest share of guest nights (85.4%) was spent in rented accommodation establishments.

During the first quarter of this year the number of inbound tourists amounted to 443,062, while total nights spent surpassed 2.9 million nights.

Total tourism expenditure for the period January-March 2023 was estimated at €312.4 million, while expenditure per capita stood at €705, the NSO said.
