On Friday, the Gozo Philatelic Society launched its full colour detailed publication of Covers and Cards produced by the GPS since its inception in 1999.
The publication, compiled by Mark-Anthony Poulton, details the commemorate events they are linked to – and stamps – connected with Gozo, designed by resident artist Anthony Grech.
For the occasion, the GPS also organised a lecture by Vincent Zammit at Il-Hagar Museum in Victoria, when he delved into the interesting social and historical details one can glean from these commemorative philatelic covers.
GPS secretary Antoine Vassallo and President Jesmond Borg welcomed the guests and explained the initiative.
The evening also included the inauguration of a temporary exhibition showing a cross section of what the GPS is so well known for, not just locally.
Il-Hagar hosts regular mini exhibits in the GPS showcase on level -1 where one can pick up the GPS Newsletter.
