The Left think-tank organisation Zminijietna has said that it supports, and will be participating in, the national protest in favour of the environment taking place on Saturday in Valletta.

Zminijietna, in a statement, said that it expects the Government to introduce changes to safeguard ODZ areas from development, to prioritise public access to Malta’s seashore and, for better planning of urban areas.

“On the other hand, Zminijietna views positive Government strategy on waste management, green projects, and Governments’ projection to turn the Mediterranean region into a hub for renewable EU energy projects,” added Zminijietna.

“Saturday’s Environmental Protest that is being organised by eight environmental organisations. The organisations are Moviment Graffitti, Friends of the Earth Malta, Flimkien ghal Ambjent Ahjar, Din l-Art Helwa, Nature Trust Malta, Ghawdix, BirdLife Malta and Ramblers’ Association.
