The 3rd edition has been launched of the yearly cleanup campaign – Islands Cleanup – conducted by the Ministry for Environment, Energy and Enterprise.

This year’s event will be in collaboration with Project Green and Saving Our Blue.

This campaign has become synonymous with groups and individuals who would like to volunteer their time to help make the islands cleaner and greener.

The organisers said that cleanup campaigns demonstrate the importance of reducing, recycling, reusing and ultimately, responsibly disposing of the waste that we generate.

Over these past years, from this campaign alone, more than 2,500 tonnes of waste were collected from the island’s beaches, valleys and other open spaces in the countryside.

By registering, participants will be provided with all the tools necessary for their cleanup and at the end of the campaign, individuals and teams will also receive a certificate of participation.
