In May, the monthly unemployment rate was 2.8%, in the same month last year the rate stood at 3.1%, with a decrease in youth unemployment was noted, the National Statistics Office said today.

The data shows that the unemployment rate in May for persons aged 15 to 24 years (youth unemployment rate) was 8.3%, a decrease on the same month last year when the rate stood at 9.6%. It was also down on the previous month (April) when it stood at 8.7%

The rate for those between 25 and 74 years stood at 2.2%, last year it was 2.3%.

The unemployment rate in May for males was 3.0%, it was 3.1% May 2022, while the rate for females stood at 2.5%, down on last year when the rate was 3.0%.
