According to latest data from the National Statistics Office, in May, the Industrial Producer Price Index increased by 4.1% when compared to the same period of 2022.

The most notable annual price change was an increase of 8.3% in the consumer goods index.

Industrial producer prices for the domestic market increased by 2.0%. Price rises were recorded in the consumer goods (6.4%) and in the capital goods (2.6%). On the contrary, the intermediate goods dropped by 1.1%.

Non-domestic prices increased by 5.5%. The prices of goods destined to the non-euro area rose by 6.3%, while those destined to the euro area increased by 4.0%.

The NSO noted that when compared to the previous month, the Industrial Producer Price Index dropped by 0.3%.
