Today, the Malta Council for Economic and Social Development social partners convened to address the pressing issue of national power distribution amid climate change adaptation for Malta.
The urgent Council meeting for its social partners was called by the MCESD two days ago, when it also announced that the Prime Minister would be attending.
The meeting was held in the presence of the Prime Minister, Robert Abela, Ministers Miriam Dalli, Clyde Caruana and Parliamentary Secretary Andy Ellul.
MCESD said that following presentations made by Enemalta, the Government committed to proposed plans for accelerated and adequate investment in the implementation of upgrades to the distribution of energy in order to match the expected needs and ambitions of the Country.
MCESD also advised that climate change adaptation must address overall national risks to infrastructure driven by extreme weather conditions.
