Almost 295,000 inbound tourists visited the Maltese Islands in June

An estimated 294,488 inbound tourists visited the Maltese Islands in June. This was an increase from 245,433 in the corresponding month of 2022.
According to latest data from the National Statistics Office, total nights spent amounted to 1,946,623, and total expenditure reached almost €286.5 million.
UK, Italy, and French residents made up 47.0 per cent of total inbound tourists.
The largest share of guest nights (87.4%) was spent in rented accommodation establishments.
The average length of stay of total inbound tourists stood at 6.6 nights.
Inbound tourists in the first half of the year amounted to 1,289,292, while total nights spent surpassed 8.1 million nights.
The NSO noted that total tourism expenditure for January-June was estimated at €1,036.8 million, while expenditure per capita stood at €804.
