Construction began last weekend on the wall that separates the valley from the road that leads down from Xaghra to the beach of Ramla l-Hamra.
Minister for Gozo and Planning Clint Camilleri said that this wall will ensure that this road is safer for drivers and everyone who uses it.
He explained that the concrete wall will serve as a base for another rubble wall to be built in front which will complement the area.
The Minister called for the Ramla Valley to be kept clear now that it has been cleaned-up to make it ready for rainwater storage.

I have been campaigning for eleven years about the danger the road from Xaghra down to Ramla especially at Ghajn Hosna and the need to put crash barriers. I hope now that this road will be safe for those using it especially the 322 buses and the tourist’s double decker buses. Better late than never.
