Update: On Monday, Donna Pace, 32, of Siggiewi and Andreas Buhagiar, 29, of Qormi, were arraigned in the Gozo Court charged with committing or attempting to commit 14 thefts in a single month.

The accused appeared before Magistrate Simone Grech. Both pleaded not guilty to the charges. A bail request was turned down and they were remanded in custody.

Police advised on Monday morning that its investigations led to the arrest of the two persons, four days after they allegedly committed a series of thefts in Gozo.

Police said that the thefts involving cash were from kiosks in Xewkija and Ghajnsielem and Cirkewwa, electronic equipment was also stolen from a shop in Victoria.

They were allegedly involved in an attempt to steal money from a cash machine in a car wash facility in Xewkija, and a motorbike in Victoria.

They are also suspected to have been involved in the theft of a car from Qormi, which was later used in the Gozo thefts, and of another car in Mellieha.
