Following its successful establishment in Malta, Caremark, a reputable leading company in care sector in the UK, has launched its services in Gozo.
Caremark, offers care services to individuals of all ages and all abilities in their own home. Drawing on comprehensive training systems, and a robust structure of operation, Caremark has established excellent quality and standards across the services that it offers.
In support of Caremark’s initiative to invest in Gozo, the Ministry for Gozo hosted the launch event yesterday at its premises in San Francis Square, Victoria. The International Manager of Caremark, Mr Phil Mason and Ms Anne O’Rouke flew over from the UK for the event.
Following an introduction by Mr Kenneth Demartino, Chairperson of the local franchise Caremark (Malta), Mr Phil Mason expressed Caremark’s gratitude to the Ministry for Gozo for hosting this event. He shared a vision of confident optimism to the successful outcome of the launch of Caremark in Gozo.
At the invitation of the Minister for Gozo, Dr Anton Refalo, the Parliamentary Secretary for Rights of Persons with Disability and Active Ageing Dr Justyne Caruana, addressed the launch of this new service in Gozo.
Dr. Caruana pointed out that population ageing is a reality in our country and no less Gozo where this reality is more acute. Adding that these services are of great benefits. Such services will ensure better quality of life in the most effective and efficient way possible.
She remarked that the Government is committed to enhancing services for seniors and deliver quality services especially in the community. “As Government is strongly promoting the concept of active aging, it is imperative that our elders remain in the community as long as possible and thus also reduce the demand on residential services, which is a major challenge in country.”
Dr. Justyne Caruana explained that she already had the opportunity to meet with the directors of Caremark, as they are also collaborating in the field of services rendered by the Sapport Agency. She augured success in Caremark’s work in Gozo in aid of our elderly and urged Caremark to continue embracing its mission statement of quality care in the community.
The Minister for Gozo, Anton Refalo announced that this launch was an important and meaningful event for Gozo, on three different favourable counts.
He explained that Caremark’s launch will contribute towards enhancing standards and quality in care services across Gozo, demonstrates trust and faith of a big British company in Gozo and the Gozitans in providing training and job opportunities, and will optimise the operations of tourist sector in Gozo.
Whilst thanking Caremark, Minister Refalo augured best success to Caremark and noted hope that Caremark’s exemplary and inspiring initiative will encourage other entities in the private sector, across all fields of industry, to seek similar investment in Gozo and its people.

A good idea for the elderly who are living by themselves is to get a life alert bracelet and when the person falls or needs help, the bracelet by tapping on it will alert the ambulance team and they are able to speak to the person through the gadget on their wrist.
