Ghajnsielem Locality Day and the Liturgical Feast of Our Lady of Loreto, is being celebrated today
The official programme of Festive events in Ghajnsielem has also started this weekend with the turning on of the Christmas street lighting in the locality.
At 6.45pm this evening there will be the inauguration of the Christmas Tree with a Christmas Carol concert by The Joygivers.
The Christmas Tree, which is 65 feet tall and made up of 4,950 glass bottles, will be beautifully illuminated for the season.
There will also be a walk-thru Santa’s experience for the young, or maybe not so young, at heart to enjoy!
Meanwhile in Rome, the Ghajnsielem NGO Ghimmanu-El Ghaqda Presepisti Ghajnsielem Ghawdex has opened an exhibition of the traditions of the Maltese crib in Sant’ Andrea delle Valle Basilica in Rome. This is the second edition of the exhibition which will run until February.
The Ghajnsielem Local Council said that “this is certainly an honour for all of us and a pleasure for our Local Council to assist.”
It congratulated everyone involved in the exhibition.
