Thomas Casha was selected as the winner of Saturday’s fifth edition of Kantamaghna Festival in Gozo.

DCapitals Big Band presented Kantamaghna – A Singers’ Festival at the Teatru Astra in Victoria.

Thomas Casha was selected from the professional jury as the overall winner of the festival. He performed the song ‘Bla Tarf.’ 24 singers participated in the festival and were divided in three categories.

The winners and runners-up of the festival categories were:

Distinct Talent Award: Faith Buttigieg

Winner Category A (10-13 years): Thomas Casha

Runner-up Category A: Kristy Said

Winner Category B (14-17 years): Krista Sujak

Runner-up Category B: Kylie Micallef

Winner Category C (18-35 years): Cherylis

Runner-up Category C: Nicole Hammett

Overall Winner: Thomas Casha

The singers were accompanied by the DCapitals Big Band 8-piece band under the direction of Mro George Apap. Keane Cutajar hosted this year’s festival.

Kantamaghna was presented in collaboration with the Cultural Heritage Directorate within the Ministry for Gozo; Victoria Local Council; Distinct Homes Ltd and SISU Tours.
