Gozitan singer Sarah Bonnici from Munxar, now has the honour of representing Malta at the Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö, Sweden, with the song Loop after she won last night’s national final with 102 points.

12 songs were performed on the night in Valletta and the voting was carried out via a mix of viewers and experts. The Maltese public decided 50% of the vote, while an appointed jury’s scores made up the other 50%.

Minister for Gozo and Planning, in a Facebook post on Sunday, congratulated 25-year old Sarah on her win and on the honour of representing Malta this coming May in Malmö.

Previous Gozitan singers to represent Malta in the contest, were Morena in 2008 who sadly failed to qualify in the semi-final, and Michela who was place 16th in 2019.
