Gozitan singer Morena, from Sannat, gave her all tonight, in a very strong performance of her song ‘Vodka’ at the semi-final of the Eurovision song Contest in Belgrade.

Her performance, and that of her backing vocalist and dancers seemed to go flawlessly and received resounding applause from the large crowd, as well as from local supporters who were gathered in numerous venues around Gozo and Malta.

Sadly the final vote results are in and Morena has not been chosen as one of the ten finalists, a sad day for Morena and of course the whole of Gozo and Malta who were hoping for a place in the finals, and of course a victory for Malta in the finals on Saturday – once again it was not to be……

The ten lucky countries that qualified for the final, in the order which they were announced, were, Ukraine, Croatia, Albania, Iceland, Georgia, Denmark, Sweden, Latvia, Turkey, and Portugal.
