Applications are being received from eligible persons to serve as Assistant Electoral Commissioners and Polling Place Officers in the forthcoming European Parliament and Local Councils’ Elections due on Saturday, the 8th of June.

The Electoral Commission advised that applicants will be expected to attend a training session organised by the Electoral Commission in due course.

Applications will be received online (electoral.gov.mt/applynow) as from next Monday, the 12th of February, from 8am till Saturday, the 9th of March, at 1pm.

In Gozo, applicants may also submit their application at the ID Cards Office, 28A, St. Francis Square, Victoria, Gozo, between next Monday, the 12th of February, till Saturday, the 9th of March, from 8am to 1pm and from 3pm till 7pm between Monday and Friday and on Saturdays from 8am to 1pm.

Alternatively, applicants may submit their application by visiting the Electoral Office, Counting Hall Complex (Ex-Trade Fair Grounds), Naxxar, during the same days and times as above.

The Commission added that applicants who call personally must bring their Identity Card.

Given that access to the Electoral Office premises in Naxxar is currently restricted due to infrastructural works in the vicinity, it is recommended that one reaches the Electoral Office through Triq Giuseppe Scicluna, on the left side of the Naxxar Parish Church, and proceeding on the left side upon reaching Pjazza Celsi.
